What is the best way to ship a wakeboard?
Q. I am planning to buy a wakeboard and I want to ship it from California to Singapore. What is the best way to ship it? What would be the cost? Thanks!
Asked by dandarandandan - Mon Jan 26 00:59:06 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Any international shipping company will ship a wakeboard for you, it won't be a problem, they tend to weigh around 7 or 8 kilos and the shipping companies usually have a limit of 30 kilos so a wakeboard is well within the limits. Whovever you buy the board off should arrange shipping for you, I'm sure they'll have an account with a shipping firm. I'm not sure about the cost from the US but these guys are based in Europe and shipping to Singapore when you buy a wakeboard costs around $80 (US) Hope this helps. I expect you won't have any problems though.

I am interested in adding a wakeboard pylon to my Regal 22 foot bowrider. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Q. I prefer not to drill my boat, and am not interested in getting a wakeboard tower.
Asked by Caddiehack - Mon Aug 17 23:13:31 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Unless your boat was pre-drilled for a tower as an option, you're going to need to drill it to install a quality, functional pylon. Once the pylon is set into place, marking it and drilling it is not that hard. Their was one universal fit pylon that "was" available a few years ago, it was a clamp on style with adjustments and it did NOT work well at all...once the clamps let loose, which happened alot, it did more damage to the boat than drilling would have done. hope this helps.

How much is a wakeboard session?
Q. When I searched on here I could only find out people asking about the actual wakeboard or boat. If I wanted to go out for just a day, do they offer that? What kind of prices would I be looking at? Also, I snowboard, is the difficulty level similar to learning how to snowboard?

A. it all depends where u live, if u live in florida u can go to OWC and get a pull for al day for about 20$ or something, but if you live somewhere else you can stop by your local boardshop and prolly rent one, i now buy all my stuff from either silver spray sports, in michigan or at buywake.com

How do I repair the bottom of my wakeboard?
Q. On the bottom of my wakeboard in a few spots my finish is coming off. Is this something to worry about or do I need to fix it? If so how do I fix it?
Asked by ljbeez - Fri Jun 6 11:00:56 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It is nothing to worry about, this won't affect you. If it starts to crack you could fix it but it is more than likely not worth it because it would be cheaper to buy a new one.

How can i get my girlfriend up on a wakeboard?
Q. I wakeboard almost every weekend and my gf likes to come on the boat with all of us. I have tried to get her up many times but she just cant seem to figure it out. Does anyone have any tips I can give her to help her stand up
Asked by Lil J.J - Fri Jun 8 00:12:25 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. A shorter rope helps, around 25 feet. tell her to relax her legs but not all the way, keep the board halfway in the water before starting, and crouch down a little bit while leaning back. then once shes up turn the board after a second or two.

If you know how to Snowboard does it make learning how to Wakeboard easier?
Q. I'm been snowboarding for a while and am pretty good. Will this make learning how to wakeboard easier?

A. Absolutely. Being familiar with riding any board sideways will give you a definite head start on learning any new board sport. I was just the opposite in that the first time I snowboarded was about 3 years ago but I had been wakeboarding for over a decade. Just the fact that standing sideways came natural to me helped tremendously and after a few runs I was carving around pretty easily on my heelside and toeside edges on a snowboard. Snowboards, since they dont have fins, are going to have a much looser feel than if you use a wakeboard with deep fins. You might want to look into using a board without the center fin or with really small fins so that you will be able to break it free similar to a snowboard. A wakeboard with all 3 fins… [cont.]

Q. I want to buy my boyfriend a wakeboard for Christmas, but I don't know what to look for. He is 6'1" and about 180 lbs. and has really long legs. So if you have any general or specific info it would be helpful. Thanks! Some general info: Size of board, style, general cost, a good place to find bargains( I'm in Anaheim, CA). Anything else you can think of.

A. 141 cm would be a good size of board. I am 6'2" and ride a CWB Pure. Check out and click on the wakeboard section. Most of the manufacturers on the site have boards of all price ranges and abilities. Each manufacturer listed (i.e. Liquid Force, CWB, Hyperlite, etc.) also shows a scale for each board indicating the Pop, Feel, and Ability. Place your cursor on a board and it will display the scale of that board. Most sites also have closeouts for 2006 models since 2007 is just around the bend. Prices run anywhere from a couple hundred to as much as $500. You also need bindings, if he doesn't already have them. Some sites also offer board and binding packages available. Is it possible to wakeboard without a wakeboard tower?
Q. We own an older fish and ski boat. we have skis so i dont see a problem. we hook it up to the back. when going, it sits about equal with your shoulders. I want to buy a wakeboard but dont know if i need to waste a thousand dollars on a tower. thanks!

A. towers only aid in 2 things... pulling you up out of the water easier, and catching BIG air. a while back i had an old jet boat with no tower. but even with the rope tied to the notch about two feet out of the water i was STILL able to air wake to wake, bust 3's and occasionally a tantrum. so no you dont need one. but believe me, if you take the sport seriously its wonderfull to have.

Q. I'm looking at getting a new wakeboard during the off season and I really like the Liquidforce PS3, but I don't know what size would be best for me I'm 6'3 and usually between 175 and 180 lbs so should I go with 137 or 141.

A. as you can see from this chart your size in putting you in both size categories. the smaller will be more maneuverable. If you're growing still then go up to the 141... If you're more of a beginner the larger will add stability.. look at your riding capabilities and goals and decide from there,

Is it safe to wax the top of my wakeboard?
Q. I know waxing the bottom of your wakeboard is unnecessary but was wondering if waxing the top of the board would be a good and safe way to protect it from the elements? I appreciate any input.

A. I am thinking you want to wax / polish your wake board with car wax right? not Wax for grip two different waxes. From what I understand there is a clear coat already on the board the wax / polish won t really make a difference other than making it shiny and getting rid of the water spots. If you take care of you board and keep it out of the sun when you re not using it will be fine. Nicole Pratt Calla Girls
