A. Check out dogfunk.com for some good deals on high quality set ups. Some good brands would be Burton( just costs a lot more for no better quality) K2 Ride Forum Dc Capita Lib Tech to name a few basically avoid stores like d i c k s sporting goods. If you buy from dogfunk.com you'll get a good board ive yet to see junk sold on that site

A. Don't just pick a board between your nose and chin that's a rookie mistake You need to take into account a few things your height, weight, riding conditions, riding style"all mountain, freeride, freesty le",foot size and skill lvl Once you get those nailed down you can narrow down your board genre and size, Generally people go largest on freeride boards for stable carving and float in pow, Mid range for an all mountain board and smallest for those park rats. That is why just picking a board between your nose and chin doesn't work and is a huge mistake, If I was looking for a more backcountry oriented board I wouldn't just pick a board between my nose and chin cause I'd want extra length in the board to help for stable carving and float in pow, [cont.]

A. unfortuntaley weekends are the most expensive time--any discounted lift tickets are lodging deals are invalid on weekends and holidays...if you could, go midweek..call in sick or use vacation time...especially if you are a beginner...but yea, it'll be pricey...its pricey even if you have your own equipment and dont need lessons...but if you live in mass, i would go to vermont...look at killington or okemo, they usually do pretty good deals, especially midweek or pre-season(before christmas) ..the numbers that Kristen gave are pretty close...except for lift tickets--on the bigger mountains they are $70 plus nowadays unless you book some kind of ski n stay package or a package with your rentals..do some research though 'cause there are… [cont.]
